People helping kiwi
Community crusaders  -  All around the country, ordinary New Zealanders are volunteering their time, expertise and dollars to help save kiwi.

More than 80 community-led projects are under way, many involving iwi.

Northland and the Coromandel are the main centres of activity, but projects are taking root in Taranaki, Bay of Plenty, East Coast/Hawke’s Bay and Wellington, and more are beginning in the South Island.

By funding community-led projects, BNZ Save the Kiwi Trust enables and encourages iwi, communities and businesses.  More than 30 community-led projects receiving Trust support are profiled on this site.

If you live near wild kiwi, and there is no active community group, there are also some tips on where to begin.
